Family Fun Day at Durfee Innovation Society

Co-presented by Gabriel Music Society and Motor City S.T.E.A.M Foundation (MCSF), Family Fun Day will take place July 16, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Durfee Innovation Society.
Hungry for Music will hold an instrument drive at the event and continuing through July 20. The Gabriel Brass Band and the youth ensemble Earfood will provide live music, and DJ Al Wu will spin tunes.
Kids activities will include a bounce house, gaming truck and hands-on science/art activities provided by MCSF.
The Gabriel Music Society is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the Gabriel family musical and cultural legacy that stretches over six generations and promotes music education and performance for local youth. The organization has worked with Hungry for Music for more than seven years, assisting hundreds of music students with instruments and workshops in metro Detroit.
MCSF provides Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics educational programs and opportunities for minority and underprivileged students. The organization’s goal is to increase the number of minority students pursuing higher education degrees in the STEM fields while infusing art and creativity into each learning experience.
